What if you were raised in an orphanage and finally adopted by a man who was the town's doctor, only to be alone again after his death?
After living in an orphanage for most of her life, Hannah is given the opportunity to travel on an orphan train. She is thrilled when she realizes that someone actually wanted her when the doctor in a small Texas town offers her a home. But when the doctor dies a few years later, she suddenly is left without a home again.
Because of her circumstances of being alone, she becomes a mail-order bride, but ends up in an abusive marriage. A few months later she is again left without a home, but this time as a widow and pregnant with her first child.
She is given the opportunity to become a mail-order bride again, and does so very reluctantly, feeling like she doesn't have a choice.
Her new husband is a blacksmith of a small Montana town and is thrilled to finally find someone who wants to marry him and instantly falls for his new bride. Will Hannah be able to learn to trust her new husband when everyone else in her life has failed her?
