Laura wanted nothing to do with her father, or his family, after he abandoned her and her mother. But when she needs money to pay off her inheritance taxes, Allesandro di Vicenzo, sent by her paternal grandfather, arrives just in time. Allesandro is told that if he succeeds in delivering Laura, he'll be promised a chance at a CEO position, so he offers her a small fortune to help pay off her taxes. Laura doesn't like the rude and moody Allesandro, and initially he doesn't care much for his boss's cold, plain-looking granddaughter.
