Narrator Liz Pearce recounts the story of Lord Cayton and Lady Ella in the third book in this Regency romance series. Although their attraction is instantaneous, Cayton's shady past keeps him from imagining the possibility of a life with Lady Ella. Then the men who tried to murder her brother and steal the rare Tiger Eye diamonds return to ask Cayton's help locating them. Cayton must choose between the life he wants with Lady Ella and staying mired in his past. Pearce's ability to maintain a distinct accent for each character from servants to the aristocracy is inconsistent and may confuse listeners. But strong characters and an unexpected turn of events lessens the narrator's lack of emotional connection to the story. C.S. © AudioFile 2017, Portland, Maine
