A powerful tribute to the power of the human spirit in the face of hardship—based on the author’s own experience within the cancer community—for fans of Mary Ellen Taylors Honeysuckle Season.
A woman finds hope, support, and friendship in a runner’s group following her breast cancer diagnosis in this “amazing, breathtaking, and inspiring” novel (Jenny Colgan, author of The Bookshop on the Corner).

When Keira first receives her breast cancer diagnosis, she never expects to end up joining a running group with three women she’s only just met. Totally blind-sided, all she can think about is how she doesn’t want to tell her family or step back from work. Nor does she want to be part of a group of fellow cancer patients. Cancer is not her club.
And yet it’s running—hot, sweaty, lycra-clad running in the company of brilliant, funny women all going through treatment—that unexpectedly gives Keira the hope she so urgently needs. Because Keira will not be defined by the C-word. And now, with the Cancer Ladies’ Running Club cheering her on, she is going to reclaim everything: her family, her identity, and her life.
One step at a time.
Moving, uplifting and full of hope, this is a beautifully crafted novel about love, family, and the power of finding your tribe.

Keira Beck is satisfied with her life--she has a happy marriage, two children, and a successful business. Then a diagnosis of breast cancer throws her carefully ordered life into disarray. Soon, she's undergoing chemotherapy, her teenage daughter is growing more rebellious every day, and her business partner is turning their gift shop into an online business selling cheap tchotchkes. A chance encounter with a runner outside the medical clinic gives Keira a surprising boost of encouragement, and soon she's joining Tamsin, a fellow patient, for regular runs. They form a running club with other women undergoing treatment, and their shared experience turns them into fast friends. What begins as a morale boost becomes a lifeline as each of the women progresses with her treatment. Lloyd spins a compassionate, big-hearted tale about a woman in crisis and the people who rally around her. While the depiction of breast cancer treatment is realistic, Keira's wry observations of her situation add a strong dose of humor, keeping the tone light. Readers who enjoy Mary Adkins and Katherine Center will delight in this uplifting, feel-good story.
